This is another Olsen twins movie, and
as usual is quite good. This time the twin girls advertise their single
father on a Santa Monica Billboard. Their mother has been dead for about
a year and they feel it is about time their father started dating, but
since he will not look for someone they advertise. Their father does not
know anything about it until it is on the news the next morning and as
you would expect he is not pleased by what they did. However, they are
flooded with responses and he finally agrees to go on a few dates to get
the girls off his back. As a result of the advertisment he does find someone
he likes, but it is not someone who answered the billboard.
The father is an artist and things begin
to get complicated when his agent decides that the romance is hurting is
creativeness. The agent persuades the girls to help him sabotage the relationship
by faking a conversation where the woman confesses she is only after his
money and plans to sent the girls away to school. Once the girls learn
the truth about the agent they must enlist the help of some other kids
(including one they don't really like) to get the evidence on the agent
and get the couple back together.
In this movie the girls are old enough
to begin being involved in romance themselves, although those who interest
them, and those who are interested in them, are not necessarily the same
people. But sometimes it can be helpful to be mistaken for your twin, even
if it does not seem so to the boy at the time.
